For our 4th wedding anniversary, Arin got me a new lens for my camera. Its a 50mm (1:18D) Nikon AK Nikkor. I love it. It takes amazing photos.
I am wondering though whether it is the optics alone (which certainly has something to with it), or the relatively fixed depth of field which tends to create more artful portraits. Or both.
All I know, is that I love this lens. Thank you Arin!
Many kids are born and you can see what they are going to look like when they grow up. Some look uncannily like one of the parents, or maybe they just look older then they really are. They just have a look that is easy to project into the future.
Harper never had that for me. He was a very classic baby with his big eyes, round cheeks, and many other Disney-esque features. Arin and I always wondered what he would look like when he was a kid. Until we saw this photo:
And now we finally get a glimpse at what our kid is going to look like.
Attending a party this weekend with fellow Six Aparter's I was struck by how I was introduced to so many people... "Do you know that really cute baby on Vox? This is his father..."
Then again, later at the same party, Mike Montiero poked his head around a corner and I heard a friend say, "you see that guy? That's the guy I was telling you about - that's 'King of Vox!'".
It occured to me that both Harper and Mike are "voxfamous" (pronounced similarly to "infamous").
vox‧fa‧mous [voks-fuh-muh
s]
–adjective
1. to be very well known and widely recognized on Vox
Anyone else voxfamous around here?
Jacquie was so kind to give Arin and I a copy of this CD when Harper was born, and I don't think I could thank her enough. Harper LOVES it. He is asleep by the time we reach the third track - without fail. Its like someone pushed a sleep button or something. Of course it means I rarely get an opportunity to listen to tracks 4-12, but I am fine with that if it gets him to sleep.
Plus the first song always has this knack of bringing me to the verge of crying.
Thank you Jacquie!!!
