A picture a day
I have always been impressed with Mena's dedication to taking a picture of herself once a day - what an amazing way to chronical your life, growth and change.
Some of you may remember Ahree - she worked for us (Six Apart) for a while in the marketing department, and even helped to design Vox's logo. Well she just produced a film that could put Mena's project in a whole new light. Ahree has taken a picture of herself once a day as well - once a day since 2001. She then cut together every single photo to create a 3 minute film.
The music was composed by another Six Apart employee (a contractor actually) - her husband Nathan.
Watch the film on Atom Films now.

chronicle, even. :)
That film took stunning dedication. I really liked watching her hairstyle develop and how often her glasses changed. If I had done something like that I think the only thing that would have changed would have been the lighting.
This film appeared on YouTube yesterday and has received a ton of hits. I love how her part doesn't change in three whole years.
very cool idea...maybe we should all do the same. i don't think she aged at all!
Yeah, on youtube this recieved more than 1.3 million views and she deserves it.
Actually, what's kind of sad about YouTube is that if people had viewed the film on AtomFilms, Ahree would have gotten a small royalty each time. But since people were watching on YouTube she gets nothing but a lot of wackos leaving weird comments about her movie.
The concept sounds a bit off when you first hear it. But when you watch it, you realize just what brilliance there is in the simplicity of it. Great job, Ahree.
uhhh... you need either real or wmv to play it on atomfilms? boo. i'd say they need to get their act together.
Oh wow, I watched that video recently. Didn't know she's related to Six Apart.
That is stunning. I wonder how she got her head to be so consistently centered in all of the takes?
Good news: the original YouTube post was taken down for "copywrite infringement" and then reposted by Ahree herself. This new post has received almost a million hits and offers a one-minute excerpt of the video. She provides a link to the Atom site. So, I hope that she'll see some well-deserved royalties in the near future.
1,134,084 views on YouTube. That's a decent chunk of change. Sucks...
Great video though.
